Darrel Lunkin has been selected by the Delivery Team Leaders, Al Arnold and Mandy Lopinto as our Eagle of the Quarter. Darrel was hired as a Driver Sales Assistant on December 10, 2024. He learned about the job very quickly and has become very efficient in his performance. He accepts his assignments in an incredibly positive manner and can be counted on to get the job done and done right. Darrel’s consistent positive attitude and willingness to always help others is why the delivery team chose Darrel as their Employee of the Quarter. Darrel aspires to get a Class A CDL and become a Driver Salesman. The Delivery Team has confidence that Darrel can become one of the top drivers in the department. Darrel has been in a relationship with Lanell for five years. Darrel has three children, Samual 19, Darrel Jr. 17, and Laniya 13. Darrel’s favorite hobby is playing basketball. Darrel says he is training his daughter Laniya to play basketball. He does not have a favorite basketball team, but his favorite player is Dirk Nowitzki now retired from the Dallas Mavericks. Darrel plays in a basketball league along with Ahmad G., Steven P., and Sidney M. They play at Riverdale Gym, Atonement Gym, and Crescent City Gym. Darrel also loves to play pool with his dad and brother, where they compete for trophies and money. Darrel’s favorite beers are Budweiser and Bud Light.

On October 2, 1984, Robert “Speedy” McCall was the first team member hired at the Metairie location of Southern Eagle Sales and Service. For the past 41 years, Speedy has proven himself to be a key team member by expertly removing dents, painting vehicles, repairing roofs, tree branch removals, door repairs, bumper repairs, replacing body panels and doing graphics maintenance on the Southern Eagle fleet. Now, take all of what was just mentioned and then add in welding, trailer floor rehab and touching up the marketing props and trailers and you will begin to understand just how much of an asset to Southern Eagle Speedy really is. Many people know that Speedy enjoys classic muscle and sports cars. Speedy’s work on vehicles does not stop when he leaves for the day. He has done high-end custom car work and has owned several of his favorite sports car….the Corvette. He can occasionally, and only on beautiful days, be seen driving a VERY well-maintained yellow convertible Corvette. Speedy’s current project is repurposing a 20-bay Southern Eagle trailer and turning it into a mobile bar for the marketing department. Please visit the mechanic shop to check out the progress on what is going to be the only one of its kind event trailer in the New Orleans market. While visiting the Fleet area, thank Speedy, a two-time Eagle of the Quarter, for not only his years of service, but for all his excellent work!

Aaron has been with Southern Eagle since February of 2024. Since the start of his time here, he has taken on all the challenges presented to him with a great attitude accompanied with a great big smile. He keeps his accounts in great shape and always has a positive outlook no matter the situation. Dealing with some of our largest accounts can be a hectic task but, Aaron always handles it with grace. This is due in part to great communication and his relationships with store personnel, account managers, and his team leader. In his spare time, he loves to tune cars and work on exhaust systems to maximize performance as well as make them as loud as possible! Aaron also builds gaming computers from the ground up. Obviously, he’s all about performance; making sure to have the best graphics cards, plenty of RAM and the fastest processing speeds. One of his favorite games to play is Borderlands. Aaron also has a 4-year-old daughter named Erin. They love to go on adventurous trips to see all the sights in places like California and Colorado. He does have a fond memory of being in New York in the winter and having his daughter experience the deep snow while out sight-seeing.
